Creative design and technical engineering handled by one team
Industrial Design and Engineering
We combine industrial design with engineering in one process – so your product works, looks great, and doesn’t blow your tooling budget.
Our Clients See Real Results
What We Do
We take products from concept through manufacturing-ready files. Industrial design handles aesthetics and user experience.

Industrial Design
Form, aesthetics, and user experience that make your product appealing to buyers.
- Concept development with multiple design directions
- 3D modeling and photorealistic rendering
- Ergonomic analysis and material selection
- Brand alignment and design language

Engineering Development
Mechanical design, material specifications, and structural validation that make your product buildable.
- Complete CAD development of all components
- Tolerance analysis and fit validation
- Material selection based on strength and cost requirements
- Design for manufacturing and assembly optimization

Manufacturing Documentation
Technical packages manufacturers need to quote tooling accurately and build consistently.
- Technical drawings with GD&T callouts
- Bill of materials with specifications
- Assembly instructions and process guidelines
- Tolerance requirements for critical dimensions
Engineering handles mechanical design and manufacturing preparation.
One team manages both, so your product’s design vision survives the technical development process.
Why Choose DesignBranch for Industrial Design and Engineering
Our Process
Typical timeline
Faster execution available when production deadlines are tight
We discuss your product idea, target market, competitive landscape, and technical challenges. What problem does this solve? Who’s buying it? What’s your target retail price?
We create multiple design directions showing different aesthetic approaches and technical solutions. You see sketches, renderings, and rough models. We discuss manufacturing implications and cost targets for each direction.
We develop your selected concept into detailed CAD models with complete mechanical engineering. You review iterations as we refine proportions, details, and technical solutions. We validate fits, test mechanisms, and confirm manufacturing approaches.
We build working prototypes to test form, fit, and function. You evaluate aesthetics and ergonomics. We test mechanisms, validate material choices, and identify engineering issues before tooling. Problems get fixed now instead of after you’ve paid for molds.
We create complete technical packages manufacturers use to quote tooling and produce your product. You receive CAD files, technical drawings, material specifications, and assembly instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you handle just design, or complete engineering too?
Both. Industrial design covers aesthetics and user experience. Engineering handles mechanical design, material selection, and manufacturing preparation. You get complete development from concept through manufacturing-ready files.
Can you work with products that have electronics or complex mechanisms?
Yes. We’ve developed products with electronic components, battery systems, and motorized mechanisms. If your product requires electrical engineering beyond our capabilities, we coordinate with electronics engineers while handling industrial design and mechanical engineering.
What if we already have design concepts from another firm?
We can take existing concepts and handle engineering development. We preserve design intent while solving manufacturing challenges. Some adjustments might be necessary to make the product buildable, but we protect what makes the design valuable.
Do you help find manufacturers after design is complete?
Yes. We can identify appropriate manufacturers, prepare RFQ packages, and evaluate quotes. We understand what different processes cost and can spot unrealistic quotes.
What deliverables do we receive at project completion?
Complete CAD files in native and neutral formats, technical drawings with dimensions and tolerances, bill of materials with specifications, assembly instructions, and prototype test results. You own everything needed to get tooling quotes and start production.
